An enchanting weekend between the Loire and history

The Loire Valley, with its gentle landscapes, majestic châteaux, and peaceful atmosphere, always promises a successful escape. This weekend, I had the pleasure of experiencing a particularly charming experience, between strolling on the water, delights in the great outdoors, and captivating mysteries. Here's a tale of a memorable Saturday and Sunday!

Saturday morning began gently, lulled by the lapping of the water. We headed to La Chapelle-sur-Loire for an authentic experience: a boat ride. These traditional boats, once used to transport goods on the Loire, now offer a unique perspective of the royal river and its verdant banks.

After this peaceful cruise, we headed to Mont Sigou for a well-deserved lunch break. This high point offers an exceptional panorama of the Loire Valley. Imagine: a checkered tablecloth, delicious local produce, and a breathtaking view. It's the perfect spot for an invigorating picnic, lulled by birdsong and a gentle breeze. A true feast for the eyes and taste buds!

The afternoon was spent discovering the magnificent Château de Gizeux. Less well-known than some of its illustrious neighbors, this château nevertheless conceals historical and architectural treasures. From its impressive frescoes to its peaceful gardens, the visit was a true journey back in time. The atmosphere is both majestic and warm, far from the crowds of major tourist attractions.

On Sunday, the mood changes! Head to Saumur for a thrilling adventure: an escape game at the Maison Louis de Grenelle. What more unusual setting than a prestigious sparkling wine house to challenge your brain?

Immersed in a captivating scenario, we had to use teamwork, logic, and observation skills to solve the puzzles and try to escape in time. The unique atmosphere of the cellars and the intellectual challenge made this experience particularly memorable. A fun and original way to discover the Saumur region's heritage!
